Learning Environment
- Welcome to St. Joseph Catholic School Preschool! Ms. Katie and I are very excited about building a special bond with your child, all the while encouraging your child to love to learn.
During the school year your child will be working on their cognitive and social skills. Your child is unique in learning and there will be many ways for him/her to learn these important skills.
Your child will discover/develop a love for education and a desire to learn daily through dramatic play, discovery play, manipulatives, free play, block building, outdoor time, puzzles, art, circle time, songs, library, centers, simple applications of math, music and movement, and so much more!
It is important to be mindful that every child develops at their own pace, and it is perfectly normal for them to have strengths and weaknesses in all areas. At St. Joseph Catholic School Preschool, we strive to bring out the best in every child and brighten their minds daily!
Religious Education
As the stepping stone of our school, we strive to teach the preschool children the importance of believing, trusting, and praying to GOD!
As a Catholic School we work as a community of believers to teach everyone of our students what it means to live as a disciple of Christ. We attend a weekly Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Parish to profess our faith, and witness the message of Gospel and our pastor. We are guided by our 7th grade "buddies" to help us learn the importance of Mass and how to worship properly. Every morning, we join the rest of the school for prayers and announcements. This allows us to start the day with God in mind and trust in his plan for our daily life. We participate in many acts of worship as a community of disciples and strive to teach our students the importance of God's love and divine mercy.
Within every classroom, there is an available prayer table for your child to build their personal relationship with God, Jesus, and the Holy family. There is also a religious theme for the week to teach our students the morals and beliefs of our faith.
As a community in the faith, we act as disciples and witnesses to the faith to ensure spiritual development in every student.
"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

Communication
Communication is an essential ingredient in building the foundation of trust between the teacher/child and parent(s)/teacher. We believe it is important that the children learn to communicate among themselves. We role model communication between the teachers and the children and peer to peer. Our hope for them is they grow to recognize others feelings and to feel empathy for one another.
